I have arrived... :-)

I can’t believe that a whole month has already gone passed again. My commissioning service now seems ages away but I still want to extent a big THANK YOU to all, who came and made this day so special for me.

Central Region Conference
Catrin and I will be leaving for Sudan on the 13th of February. We will be on culture and language orientation for the first 3 months and focus on Juba Arabic and relationship-building in the community. Please pray for this time in particular, as it will be challenging for both of us. The Central Region Conference started on the 7th of January for 5 days and was held on the Nile at Jinja in Uganda. It was great to meet so many of the people working in the same region and hearing of all the ministries that are going on. All my luggage and boxes arrived safely in Uganda, for which I am really thankful. Catrin and I were able to drop off most of our luggage in Uganda, for our team leader to take it back to Sudan, which was great. Otherwise we would have had to pay a lot of overweight luggage...
Africa-Based Orientation
In short, ABO started on the 20th of January in Kenya, and will finish on the 10th of February. We are a group of 32 missionaries, who will take up their assignments after ABO
in various parts of Africa – at ABO various topics are tackled such as African custom and culture. One of my highlights here is to get to know the TIMO team (training in ministry outreach) working in South Sudan – a bunch of 15 people between the ages of 24 and 35, living in the ‘bush’ with the people in an area where the Gospel has never been preached before.
